Hey, Louie! This is Fluttershy. I hope this isn't weird or anything, but I saw that you had mentioned to someone once that you were looking for a Glameow? So I thought I'd finally give breeding a try and so I have a Glameow egg if you'd like.
It doesn't have any hidden abilities or special moves, I don't think. But if you don't mind that, I'm happy to give you one.
[It's kind of out of the blue, sure, but it doesn't read as weird to Louie... She's selling an egg, right? Going directly to an interested potential customer is just good business sense. And sure, Louie thinks Fluttershy's really nice, but he's still going to make sure he gets a good deal here.]
Oh, cool. Yeah, I might be interested. I'll think about it. How much are you selling the eggs for?
[And Louie's not about to change that-- If she wants to give him something for free, well, who is he to deny a friend?]
Well sure! I'll take one, thanks Fluttershy. If you're still in Goldenrod we can meet up, but if you've left since the holidays I can send Peso to pick up the egg. She's really good with deliveries, and trust me, she'll make sure the egg travels safely.
[Rei could not find a saddle, or at least, one that could be purchased in a store. She did, however, find a very nice blanket, the sort that one might stuff underneath said saddle. It looks somewhat like this.
The blanket arrives with a note that reads "This is for you, on the occasion of your birth."
[When Louie gets his hands on the gift, there's no question who it's from. Signed or not, the note only further confirms that this is from Rei. A thank you note may do for other presents, but Rei will find a voicemail message left on her PokeGear:]
Hey, it's Louie. Thanks for the blanket, it's going to come in handy. I hope you had a nice time at prom and the birds didn't cause you too much trouble. I'll see you around, Rei.
[ A package arrives for Louie at the Olivine City PokeCenter. It's a small-ish wrapped box that is oddly light, and once he opens it he'll find a handknit zip-up pouch. Opening the pouch, he'll see that the inside is fabric-lined, and that it contains a note. ]
Happy birthday, Louie! I hope you have a wonderful day today!
[Fluttershy will receive a note delivered by Louie's Decidueye, Dollar, within the week. Even when he was a small child, Louie realized that thank you notes are a good way to further build a connection with someone clearly willing to give presents! That's never a bad thing! As such, he's good about them even when he's not feeling sincere... But in this case, he is, anyway.]
Thanks for the gift, Fluttershy. I'm thinking it'll be great for tips next time I'm selling something. Speaking of, have you been doing more with selling this kind of stuff? You should! Let me know if you want tips or, I don't know, need a marketing expert who gets a nice cut of the profits!
[ After receiving Louie's note, Fluttershy decides to text her reply, since it would be faster that way. ]
Hi Louie! I'm so glad you liked your gift.
I haven't been doing as much with selling anything, though I have made a few extra items just in case. I'm not really good with this kind of thing, so I would certainly appreciate any advice you could give me! And I'd be happy to share the profits I receive, of course.
[NO WAIT he shouldn't blow this for himself, he's just going to jump right in.]
Well, the best thing about selling things like knit goods is that you don't have to do sales in person. You can set for items to be delivered, especially if you have a Pokemon that's a strong and quick flier. That'd be your best bet. You need to advertise, of course, which should be done over the network. But the real gamechanger will be finding an angle that sets you apart from getting these kind of items anywhere else.
Sure! I don't know much about business myself, so if you're helping me out then it makes that you'd get some compensation.
Oh that is a good idea! I think Ignatius would be fast enough for deliveries like that. I don't know how to advertise them to make them stand out, though. Especially since I think someone else had also talked about selling handknit goods as well.
Well, if someone else is doing this, then you definitely need to advertise uniquely. Really set yourself apart, and get competitive with it. Maybe having some of your cutest Pokemon in the photos, even wearing things that can be worn, would be a start.
Look, just think of it this way: Being competitive with your business will mean you make more from it, and the more you make the more you can treat your Pokemon to nice things. It all works out!
But start with some cute pictures of your Pokemon wearing things, and let's see how that goes.

Oh, I'm not selling them. I just want to make sure they're given to people who will take care of them. So one of them is yours if you want.

[ Good job, Louie, you've convinced her. ]
Okay. Should I send you the pictures first to see if they're okay?
[ I.E., if they're "marketable" enough. ]
no subject
And yeah, definitely. I can help with knowing what will sell.

[ That's basically just giving Fluttershy permission to send over a dozen or so photos of her Pokemon dressed up in adorable knitwear.
You asked for this, Louie. ]
